Dovetail Layout Formula

Below is a general formula for laying out dovetails either tails first or pins first. The result will allow you to either use a ruler to mark out the tail locations or allow you to precisely set a pair of dividers to step out each of the distances.

d = distance between half pins, t = number of tails, p = pin size
