About Bellflower
Hi! My name is Eoin McArdle and I am a woodworker and furniture maker from Galway, Ireland. I craft custom pieces of furniture, sculptures and other wooden pieces. My portfolio of past projects can be viewed here! ~ I've been working with wood for over a decade and love creating custom, one-off pieces and working on commissions to a clients specifications. ~The name: "Bellflower Woodwork" comes from a traditional inlay motif in Federal style furniture as seen in the image below:
My Process
I specialize in hand-tool woodworking. All my pieces are made using hand-tools such as planes, chisels and handsaws. The only electricity in my workshop is used for the lights and for metal work! ~ I personally find hand tool woodworking incredibly peaceful and fulfilling. Some of my favourite tools to use are my No. 4 Bench Plane and antique moulding planes. ~I often use reclaimed timber for my projects and love working with all different timber species. Often, a client will supply their own timber to create a unique piece from which I find a great challenge!
